Technical Description of EVA Film

Characteristic

1. EVA film contains no plasticizer.

2. Investment of manufacturing facility is low.

3. No autoclave, roller press, vacuum bag and vacuum rubber ring is required.

4. EVA laminating machine occupies little space.

5. EVA film costs less.

6. Low operating cost.

7. Storage, handling and assembly of EVA film do not require to be done in a clean, moisture and temperature controlled room.

8. When the rest roll of EVA film is not used, just keep it inside the packing. It is not required to use all of them within a day.

9. Lamination with plastic sheet is easy.

10. EVA film is available in clear, different kinds of white and a large selection of color, transparent, translucent and opaque.

11. EVA film is compatible to a variety of material such as fabric, cloth, paper, metal mesh, fibre glass and silk to form aesthetics effect to meet architect’s request.

Handling, operating procedure and storage

Storage
- Should be stored at temperature less than 30℃(86?H)
- Keep away from heat source such as steam pipe or direct exposure to sunlight.
- Keep dry.
- Avoid striking the roll with hard objects.
- Avoid sting.

Unroll unwinding and cutting
- After cutting from EVA roll, the rest roll should be sealed properly.
- Cutting should be done with clean hand and tool.
- The film size should be a little larger than glass size to avoid from expansion and contraction.

Assembly and lay-up
- Two panes of glass should be washed and dried.
- The cut size of EVA film is placed in between two glass panes.
- Avoid any wrinkle or undulation. Improper handling would result in “bubbling” in the finished product.
- Avoid any contamination of glass and EVA film.

Lamination
- Load the assembly glass into the laminating machine. The assembly glass is covered by silicon pad.
- Make sure the sealing of silicon pad is done in a proper way to avoid any air leaking during vacuuming.
- In case air bag machine is used, keep the bag temperature as close to room temperature as possible when placing the assembly glass inside the bag.
- Cold vacuum is then applied for 5 minutes before increasing the temperature.
- Lamination could also be done by vacuum rubber ring process. The ring is put around glass rim for air vacuum.
